“Ottoman Mediterranean:
Boundaries, Phenomena, and Approaches”

Prof. Dr. Idris Bostan of Istanbul University Faculty of Letters is the Head of the Center for Mediterranean Studies and a consultant of the Undersecretariat for Maritime Affairs. He has published surveys on maritime policies, trade and technology of the Ottoman Empire.

on the subjects of Ottoman naval history, the administrative structure of Ottoman maritime affairs, the history of naval trade, Southern policy of the Ottoman Empire and its presence in North Africa, and the Black Sea
